ECHS Leadership Team Member Bios
Dr. Rickie Harris, Superintendent
Dr. Harris received his Bachelor and Masters degree from Abilene Christian University, and a Doctorate degree from Lamar University. Starting his career in education in 1997, he worked tirelessly to be in leadership positions by 2004. Within three years, he was at the helm as Principal of Itasca High School. His first year, the campus achieved a “Recognized” rating. The following three years were followed by “Exemplary” ratings. After serving in Itasca for five years, Dr. Harris served as an Assistant Principal and Principal in Cedar Hill ISD. In 2015, officials at West Orange Cove CISD selected Dr. Harris as their next Superintendent of Schools, where the district is trending in the right direction achieving “Met Standard” every year. Dr. Harris serves on a number of community and state leadership committees. On a personal note, Dr. Harris is happily married to his wife, Shalawn, and they have 2 children.
Ashton Knox, Director of Secondary Curriculum
Ashton Knox is currently the Director of Secondary Curriculum of West Orange-Cove CISD. She has served as a teacher, regional curriculum representative, campus administrator, and district administrator. Ashton received both her Bachelor’s of Art and Master’s in Educational Administration from Lamar University. Ashton hopes to continue her career as a curriculum leader for many years to come.
Wilt Alexander, WOSHS Principal
Wilt Alexander is the principal of West Orange-Stark High School. Mr. Alexander has a total of 27 years in education, with 10 years as a teacher and coach and 17 years as an assistant principal or principal. He earned his BS from Lamar University in 1990, and his MEd from Stephen F. Austin in 2000. Mr. Alexander also hold his superintendent's certification from Lamar University, which he earned in 2005.
Angela Greer, Dean of Instruction
Angela Greer is the Dean of Instruction at West Orange-Stark High School. She has been in education for over 16 years, having served as both an English teacher and a Choir instructor. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Lamar University.
Desiree de la Rosa, ECHS Director
Desiree de la Rosa currently oversees the district's Early College High School and Career and Technology programs. Ms. de la Rosa has a BA in Criminal Justice from St. Mary's University, an MBA from Webster University and a Master's in Education from Lamar University. She has served as a special education resource and inclusion teacher, as well as a behavior unit teacher. She has served as a district behavior specialist in the San Antonio area, and most recently worked as a Behavior Program Coordinator for Region 5 prior to coming to WOCCISD.
Alisa Huckaby, ECHS Counselor
Dr. Suzonne Crockett, IHE Liaison
Dr. Suzonne Crockett is the Division Director for Education, Mathematics, Leisure Learning and Student Success at LSCO. She earned her Doctorate in Developmental Education Administration from Sam Houston State University; her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University; as well as her Bachelor's from Lamar University. She earned her Associate's Degree from Lamar State College-Orange. In addition to teaching Mathematics at LSCO, Dr. Crockett taught Secondary Mathematics for several years at the former Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, TX.
